Mt. Hood, Oregon

Mt. Jefferson from summit of Mt. Hood

Snow Angel Ted

As we emerged from the remote coastal area of Oregon and eased upon Interstate 5,,,I could feel a small 'rush' come over me as my air card finally connected - then appearing over the not too distant hill civilization was apparant - yes, it's a chain restaurant ahead - and oh my gawd - it's chain department stores - Kohl's, Target, Costco - I could feel my heart racing the closer we came to the Outlet mall ahead - I can't wait to get into my favorite 'Red Dot Boutique' [Target]!! Yes, I have missed you all -
come to me my little pretties,,,as Ted grumbles and groans about all the traffic and snickers at me getting, well just plain 'giddy' over the prospect of eating out at "Chevy's"! Best meal I have had in a month! Reminds me of eating at McDonalds across the street from Windsor Castle in the UK - man, that tasted good!
After settling in for the night at the Pheasant Ridge RV Resort in Wilsonville, OR - we got up the next day and headed to Mt. Hood. At first we thought we would just go to Sandy and take photos - afterall, one can see the summit from quite a distance - but the closer we got to the mounatin the more we wanted to see what was going on up there - We are glad we kept going.... Mt. Hood is magnificent and beautiful. Once we reached Government Camp to eat lunch at the Huckleberry Inn - all you had to do was imagine snow on the ground and skiiers and skateboarders meandering around w/boots, skis hanging on their backs - oh wait - they were - minus the snow! We continued onto the summit for a better look at what was going on up there - the closer we got the more snow - I admit I was a bit surprised at the number of skiers and snow boarders still enjoying the 60 degree weather and what snow was left. Well worth the trip up the mountain!
